Please help spread the word and share with your family and neighbors.

The Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department members invite everyone to join them for the annual benefit on Saturday, May 14 at the Willow City Fire Station, located at 2553 Ranch Road 1323.

A welcome ceremony and US Flag and Texas Flag raising will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Tea, lemonade, popcorn, water, wine, and beer will be available throughout the afternoon.

A Silent Auction begins at 3:00 p.m. and bidding closes at 5:30 p.m. while the Live Auction with Auctioneer Tim Jeanes will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. The Auxiliary’s Country Store offering a variety of home baked goods (donors – please label items with recipe names), hand sewn items and crafts, $10 “Willow City Recipes and Remembrances” cookbooks, and more items will be open from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

A pork barbecue meal with all the trimmings plus slices of homemade cakes, brownies and cookies will be served after the live auction – serving until the food is gone.  WCVFR members will be making all plates for serving dine in, drive thru and carry out, whichever you are more comfortable with.  Cost per meal plate is by free-will donation.

The prize giveaway drawings will be held at 6:30 p.m.  One need not be present to win.  Chances will be available at the event, and are available in advance at 1 ticket for $2 or 6 tickets for $10.00 from Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department firefighters, medical first responders, and auxiliary members and at Hohmann’s General Store.  (Great way to use lots of those name labels you get in the mail.  ) (Giveaway Prizes listing as of 05/11/2022 is attached.)

Donations of home baked bundt cakes, brownies or cookies, for the meal desserts are being accepted this year.  Please bring the desserts to the Fire Station on Friday, May 13 evening or Saturday, May 14 morning and document your name and address and item(s) donation information on the fundraiser check-in sheet. You may bring them whole and Nancy can slice and bag/box servings or you may individually wrap slices/servings prior to bringing.  The Cottage Food Law guides us in what we may serve in a public setting and states to provide baked items that do not require refrigeration.  Please label your items with recipe name and allergen ingredients.

Donors’ and donated items’ information are being logged into the computer database and the items labeled ~ this helps WCVFR give better recognition in thanking the donors throughout the event on Saturday up on the Projector Screen using the computer database information. (Businesses and individuals interested in donating an item for the live or silent auctions or the prize drawings or funding to underwrite event expenses are asked to contact Auxiliary President Margie Hohmann at 830-456-3785 prior to Friday evening at 7 p.m.)

All support and donations are appreciated to this annual benefit to help the WCVFR continue operating year round. Cash and checks with payer identification posted on them, and limited credit/debit cards will be accepted on day of event for item payments.  With Sincere Appreciation and Many Thanks to All Supporters of the Willow City Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department!

Kind Regards, Raynell

Proceeds will help the 501c4 non-profit all-volunteer department continue to maintain and improve the station, trucks and equipment, and for training, insurances and routine operating expenses.
